Rodenhouse Inc. has developed a fast and efficient method of installing various wall cladding components for both residential and commercial applications. In this video we demonstrate how our Grip-Lok auto-feed fastening system can be utilized to quickly attach lath for either stucco or stone veneer to heavy gauge steel studs seen on most commercial building sites. SpiderLath is a fiberglass lath that is both extremely light weight and easy to cut and install. The yellow foam strips are placed 6" apart and create an easy guide for code approved fastener spacing. The strips also ensure proper code required furring with lath placement in the middle of the basecoat and acts as a gasket to help seal the screw penetration through the weather-proofing barriers. The Grip-Lok auto-feed fastening system can be used with either coarse thread screws for wood substrates, or, as seen in this demonstration collated self-drilling screws. The applicator simply places an 1 ¼" Grip-Plate washer into the magnetic nose cup, presses the trigger, and lets the screw gun advance the next screw and drive it home with incredible speed and efficiency. This method is especially helpful when fastening into heavy gauge steel studs as seen here. The Grip-Plate washers being used are the preferred fastener for attaching SpiderLath and ensure a tenacious bond of the wall assembly.
